I had the same problem after doing the PCV fix (myself) on a 2000 9-5 aero. Prior to the fix the oil consumption was negliable; although I did get a burnt oil smell when in reverse.
After the fix I am use 1 litre of oil or more per 1000 miles. I don't see any smoke on startup or accelaration and there are no visible oil leaks. One possible theory might be that there is over pressure in crankcase due to leaking piston rings or turbo bearing. The PCV fix enlarges the inlet hole in the oil separator allowing more of the crankcase gases to pass back to the inlet (via the turbo). If there is more oil in the crankcase gases then maybe this is getting carried 'lost' through the crankcase ventilation system and burnt by the engine. Perhaps the burnt oil smell when in reverse is some indication of oil leak past the pistons?
Still, 1 litre per 1000 is a lot of oil. I think that I will get a compression test on my service.
