I used Nokian on my VW's & Subaru's in Wisconsin, and NEVER became stuck, even in a little off-road foray through two feet of snow. The unparalled pulling ability of the Nokians are tops in my book.
Gislavids are good too. Think about it both Nokian & Gislavids are made in FAR northern Europe...Both market an all-season tire, if you live north of the Arctic circle, which outperform most other SNOW tires.
I will buy Nokians for my wifes Subaru.
