Hello Geoff, I live in Pasadena,Ca. with my 1999 9 5 se 2.3 lpt with 61,423 miles. My wife and i have lived up here from Torrance for one year today. I've been to that indept.Saab repair place in Montrose. I did not get a good feeling from that guy to let him even look at my Saab. Have you ever thought of that indept. repair place in your town of Glendale to have work done on your Saab? Let me find his name. Here it is, Saab Service Independent at 820 S Central Ave. (818)241-9492. The main mechanic seems to know his stuff and is a very fast talker who says a lot. I've tried Arts Saab in Reseda for some work too. My wife use to work over that direction for awhile before finding a job in Pasadena. That Saab shop has been around a very long time. The mechanic, Hung thai is very good and seems to know his stuff in fixing Saabs. he is very fast and accurite in fixing our Saabs. There is also "Swedish Autobahn" in Reseda at 7052 Reseda Blvd. I've meet Vic only once for about one hour talking a lot of the old Saabs that have come and gone. He seems very nice and very willing to help people repair their Saabs. His number is (818) 705-8047. Last but not least, there is the old stand by mechanic in Pasadena that has been in business for about twenty years repairing Saabs called "Gabe's Scandia Motors, inc. The owner "Gabe" has done work for my Saab several times. I go to him only when i really need him because he lives so close to me, four blocks away. He does good work too. he put in a DI cassette, fuel filter, and plugs for me about three months ago only because i had a very hard time getting out of Pasadena and he was very close by. His phone number is (626)449-8420. I found another place the other day on Foothill blvd here in town close to Allen Street that repairs all Foreign cars. Saab was highlighted on his road side sign. I will stop in to see him next week to get a second opion on my serpentine belt and pulleys. Walter Wong told me about three weeks ago to have all the tensioners and pulleys changed along with the belt. Thats why i want a second opion. let me know if you have tried that mechanic in your town or not, the one on 820 S. Central Ave. I hope all my info has help you. I always shop around for the mechanics in and around the Valley here just in case of emergency and best prices too. These cars are not cheap to have repaired.
