I have done extensive work with respect to the stereo. You can fit ANY 6.5" round coax or component speaker up front. I would recommend installing a set of seperates with the tweeters in the dash. Some might say the tweeters are too far away from the drivers in the door but it works very well. I also use the center channel speaker which does a great job of improving the overall imaging. As for the rear door speakers - just disconnect them - they are useless. You can install any 5.25" coax or seperate in the rear panel location where the 6x9 woofers are located. Your installer will have to use a 6x9 piece of material to install the 5.25" - then just get a decent subwoofer and stick it in your trunk - a single 10" will work fine. Of course you will need a good amp or two to run this.
I use my the Saab factory radio with multiple amps - I have the saabs signals first going to an audio control 3.1 to maximize the signal going to my Zapco amps. It sounds great - although I am very tempted to ditch the Saan head unit as the overall system would be improved greatly with a real good head unit like an eclipse - in fact this is the first time I ever used a factory head unit - and it came out pretty darn good.
I actually thought the saab stereo in the aero was very good. If your not going to change the amps and ad a sub woofer I wouldn'yt get started....
