Thinking about an 03 linear. price sound good? issues? Posted by Dan [Email] (#2459) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Dan) on Wed, 8 Sep 2004 21:43:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had a new 02 Saab 9-5 wagon as a rental car over in germany for a few months (military) when I was out there at that time. I liked it a lot, and now that I am in the market for another car, I'm looking towards getting one for myself.
Anyways, local dealer has an 03 linear sedan. Looks to be the basic car with automatic. It has the harman kardon audio in it, so it may have upgraded audio. It has 15k mi on the clock. It's from a specialty used car dealer that pretty much sticks to late model low mi highline vehicles, so its not a certified car with the extra warranty. They've had it for quite a while it seems, and have it listed at $23900. I am down to trading an 02 mustang GT + $8k cash, so judging by the realistic conservative trade in book value, about $20k even for the Saab by my simple math. It seems about average looking at it from different angles too. retail to retail values, there is a $10k difference between the 2, but on the same note, trade in 'good' condition between the 2 is only a bit over $6k difference. Should I hold out and try to loose another $1k or so off the cash, or should I call it good?
I'm in no hurry at all as the mustang is fine and still looks/runs/drives like brand new. I just recently moved to NJ from the south, insurance does not like mustangs up here so that jumped WAY up, gas has gotten expensive over the last few months, and I could really use something better suited for winter driving which is one the biggest reason for getting out of the mustang.
I assume that I will have the full balance of the 50k warranty, am I correct? Or is there some fine print limiting some things for a second owner? How is this year for reliability? I've read about the common issues. Am I any more or less susceptible to any of them with an 03? With the car currently at 15k mi, anything in particular that I can expect to maybe go bad soon? Things of this nature?
Thanks,
Dan
