50 K on 225/45/17 tires? That might be a record. Tires, especially low profile high performance tires, tend to get noisy as they wear down. I am amazed that you have legal tread depth on these( do you?).Treat yourself to some new shoes David. Second, and less of a factor, is that the 9-5 is not inherently quiet as far as road noise, so you might now just be going over your personal threshold for how much the tire roar annoys you. I put Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires on my aero after researcing the Tire Rack's user comments section and reading that they wre one high perofrmance tire that did not get noisy as they wore down. They are now near the end of their service life with probably 25 K miles on them and are also getting noisy. I'll go with a new set in the spring, after taking off the winter wheels.
