I wouldn't wait until the next oil change to have the fan circuit checked out. The coolant in the engine continues to increase in temperature for a while after the engine is turned off, and the fan is designed to dissipate that heat. Without the fan, you could be repeatedly overheating the engine for a short time, and that could lead to head gasket problems among other things. If it's still under warranty, all it costs is a trip to the dealer.
