Service cue on SID?

Hey all
My 04 95 Aero ( we're gettin along just swimmingly ) just decided at 3603 miles to cue me for service on the SID. I thought it was only in 5K increments? It's still on factory fill (M1) and I'd like to keep it until 5K so everything wears in properly, is it the oil timer causing this or is 3600 the magic number for something else? And, is this covered by the free maintainer deal when buying new?
