With a lack of service history, I would not consider the lpt 2.3 with its history of turbo failures and sludging. The V-6 is proving to be more reliable as well as smoother and quieter. You should drive them for yourself and see.
At 60k miles, Saab will pay for the timing belt change on the V-6 - which is essential. The timing belt tensioners should also be replaced but that will be your expense.
The ventilated seats are wonderful once you have experienced them - especially in warmer climates or on long trips.
As always, common sense should apply. If any of the vehicles shows evidence of damage or has a spotty Carfax report, then they should not be considered. Have a mechanic who knows Saabs inspect the car you are considering. A lot can go wrong with these cars that have nothing to do with the engine - the SID and ACC come to mind.
