Our second car (the one that isn't a Saab) was one I chose on the internet from a dealer that was a pretty good distance away. It was one of 2 cars in the area with the options I wanted and the only one with the color I wanted. When I went to get it, there was "lot damage" (small scratch and dent) on one of the quarter panels that required it to be repainted. There is officially no paperwork on the paint because it was repaired before the car was ever delivered to manufacturer's spec. I was told that this is not that uncommon (cars sometimes get slightly damaged during transport etc.). The car is just a commuter and not anything that will ever be a classic so I didn't mind. There could have been a single scratch on that hood when it was new that required it to be repainted prior to being sold.
