SealMax? I have a problem with my 1999 9 5 se (63,000 miles) blowing out the exhaust, from time to time, blue smoke. I have Mobile one 15w-50. My European mechanic here my town Strongly suggested i try the Kendall high mileage Motor Oil 10W-30. because it is very good in lubricating the seals and perhaps prevent them from sending blue smoke out the back of my Saab. Of course there are high mileage motor oils that are typically formulated with conditioners that flow into seal pores to restore their shape while increasing their flexibility. These conditioners can help the seals swell, thereby preventing or reducing leakage. This is what results I'm after from a very good Synthetic Blend or full Synthetic oil. The type of gas i put into the car is a Chevron 91 octane gas. And ever 10k miles i put in the gas tank a bottle of Valvaline injector cleaner formulation. The other thought is to use any engine mechanical parts sealant to keep the noise of the valves down to a very low rattling. I plan on switching to a thinner oil and finding out from my local Saab dealer what Saabs feeling are on engine lubricants to keep the valves from making noise at start ups in the cold morning air. Any results from other Saab owners would be greatly appreciated. P.S. Has anyone tried to use an engine sealant of some kind, (Pro Long, Slick 50, T max, Grease Lighting,) to protect the mechanicals parts from wearing down faster than they should, especialy at early moring start ups? Thanks, D.J.B. in Pasadena
