Terrible 9-5 Roadside Tools and Jack......

Unfortunately I had to change out a flat on my girlfriends '01 9-5 Aero yesterday that she has only had for 1 month. Very surprised to find that it was a similar jack as in my C900T...except the crank was redesigned by someone more concerned about saving space than getting the car off the ground. I ended up using the jack handle from my C900 for better ergonomics to my back and hands...and to save time.
Also unlike my C900...there was no obvious location to place the jack. I 'assumed' where it went and got the job done but I think even my Viggen has a specific location for the jack along the lower side fairings... still very surprised.
Luckily I had a full size spare to save from using the donut. Now hopefully the BBS is still round. The rim actually tore right through the tire after it blew and protected to rim. The dealer sold the car with the original rubber even though it was cracking...looks like there is a little more negotiating left to do.
Anyway...dissapointed to see that a critical element of the car didn't recieve better engineering...but actually got worse. I consider myself to be very hands on and feel that in these situations everything should make sense and be seemless. Just very surprised to see 70's technology 20 some years later.
