Compared to cars with no turbo problems (avg. mileage for cars where it was posted):
2.3lpt 11 74,125mi
V6 5 69,333
2.3hot 5 31,045
Unknown model 3
Total 23 64Kmi
Check me, but I saw 15 2.3lpt, 4 V6 and no 2.3hot on the "bad turbo" list. Anyway, out of those 15 2.3lpt here is the breakdown by year if given:
2.3lpts with bad turbos:
'99: 6
'00: 5
'01: 1
'02: 2
I wonder if the dropoff is due to lower mileage on '01's. The average breakdown point overall is about 50Kmi, which many '01's might not have hit yet. The other hypothesis is that the '01's are a more solid car; this is borne out a bit by my "analysis" of problems reported on epinions and carreview where '99's had significantly more poor reports than later years.
