Until there is a direct cable access, I think the Griffin iTrip is the best. The form factor fits the iPod perfectly and the interface is quite elegant. The reception in the 9-5 wagon is excellent. We just rest the iPod in the drink holder. Back seat, front seat, or on the floor the reception is crystal clear. No extra wires or batteries to worry about--just plug and play. I have been using mine for 18 months now and I feel it is the best addition to an iPod made.
