I like the V6 in the 9-5 (but not the one in the NG900 and 9000).
It was a big improvement in design when they put it in the 9-5.
They still haven't figured out the timing belt issue though so when the car is due for the timing belt replacement at 60K miles. Insist on no less than a full replacement of the belt, tensioner bracket with two pulleys and a third idler pulley.
The bracket with pulleys and the third pulley will be an extra $400.00 parts and labor that you most likely will have to pay for.
Other than that it seems to have very few problems. Oil leak from a aluminum blind cover that is very easy to fix, and failing ignition cassettes, but the 4 cyl have a lot more problems with that compared to the V6.
But make sure you have the car checked out by an independant source before you buy it. It could have been in an accident and that the frame is bent or that it has a salvage title.
