That's like asking "what flavor ice cream is the best". They're both great. Each has it's set of "unique" problems.
The 6 has a belt which must be changed at 60K (along with some tensioner pulleys the first time). The 4 has a chain which doesn't require periodic maintenance. However, chain sprockets have been known to wear. The 4 has one DI, the 6 has two (DI is computer controlled ingintion module, replaced distributor). Sometimes they fail.
Whether you buy a 4 or 6, sedan or station wagon, you'll be getting an extremely well engineered car that is among the safest cars (if not number one) made.
To get an appreciation, my advice would be to go to the last page and start working forward. You can gain an appreciation for the different problems owners have.
