Usually you're on the mark, but there are 2 big differences:
First, often the DI failure can have a secondary danger of disabling the car in an unsafe situation, at speed, without warning. Batteries almost never do that; you are more likely to have a no start or slow start warning. And less likely to be on the side of the road while you're waiting.
Secondly, batteries are relatively available, even in the boonies, at relatively odd times. DI cassettes are not nearly as "on the shelf", as an easy fix when caught, whereas batteries are. It seems that much of the problem is that there is such variance in the failures. This should have been addressed by now, and should not be such a costly fix.
Batteries have a fairly reasonable lifespan and are an expected wear item. If the DI cassettes are the same, it should be spelled out, too.
