1999-2009 [Subscribe to Daily Digest] |
My lease was up and the Saab product line was not enticing enough with the 9-3 bing a little small and not wanting to have another 9-5. I had a 99 9-3 and I then upgraded to an 02 9-5 Linear. Both Cars have been fairly reliable with the exceptions of a few minor things here and there (dead battery (both saabs), initial electrical issues the first (9-3), acc leaks on the 9-5 (twice), check engine light, SID replacement, a leak on a coolant hose, and a replacement of the DI at 34,000 miles.
At any rate, I found a mint 03 Audi A6 with low miles and clean history and I jumped. It still has 2.5 years left of warranty plus all the services included. Hopefully it will be a good experience. I can honestly say the Audi has a much better finish than the Saab and the drive is also way better than the 9-5. Both cars are front wheel drive. The Audi engine is also way smoother than the 2.3 engine. NO MORE SHAKING ON IDLE. That is one thing I will not miss on the 9-5.
THE ONE THING I WILL MISS ON THE SAAB IS the CONFORT OF THOSE SEATS. Nothing out there compares to them. Nothing!!! (Maybe Volvo can be a good second). Yes the Saab seats have alway been SUPER CONFY.
Hopefully, SAAB come out with some decent products in the Future. The 9-3 is a very nice car, but 9-5 needs some refreshing. The new SUV is ridiculous, and the 9-2 has been a total bomb. Hopefully GM can do something to make this line successful, not just we the folllowers, but with the mainstream market. Nissan was dead in the water a few years ago. It is amazing how they have turned it with their line of cars, Nissan and Infiniti (yes, not all their cars have been successful, but overall they have done well.)
I thank you for all the valuable information you have giving me through the years
