1999-2009 [Subscribe to Daily Digest] |
I've experienced the same sympton like a lot of you others have experienced with this nonsence of the car stuttering and shaking at start up after about four to five short stop and go trips around town. I have a 1999 9 5 se 2.3 liter automantic with about 64,832 miles on the odometer. My problem started about January 4, 2005. I read on this BB about others(E Beck, CKLATMAN, and STEVE ) having very similar problems like my Saab. And i have taken into consideration and actually applied the repairs suggested by the experts on this Board. On January 13th I've replaced the CPK sensor along with new plugs and airfilters both in the cabinet and under the hood. The Car ran very strong. It was FUN to drive it again. This past Sunday my wife and i were out driving around town doing doing about five to six short trips here and there and sure enough the car acted up again with the same old stuttering and shaking going on before the engine would cut out. Nothing came across the SID display. I let the car rest for about one minute and then it started up and we drove about three miles back home to put the car to rest for the night. About 8 moths ago i replaced the fuel filter along with a BRAND NEW "D.I. CASSETTE". I also had the head gasket replaced and PC valve replaced about 6 moths ago. My wife drives the car about 6 miles round trip every work day. Sometimes we take it on very long trips on the weekends to strecth its leggs short to speak. What could be the next possible thing to change or correct to reslove this mystery?????? I took the car into a European Motor repair garage this morning here in my town and the engineer/ mechanic who works on a lot of Mercedes and BMW and Saabs said for me to drive it around town and then look for the same symptons to re-appear then rush the car over to him so he can pull whatever out of the computer to see if any codes pop up. My Question is, WHAT OTHER SENSORS could go wrong that would need to be a consideration for replaceing??? I hate to think it could be the Massive Air Flow Sensor or even the Throttle body in need of replacement. It drives me nuts( Like a lot of others) to try to understand and find why these things are happening and what really is causing the problem or problems. If NASSA can build a SPACE SHIP, (with very little problems)and send a man to the MOON, Why can't GM/ SAAB biuld a very extremely reliable automobile for us all to really brag with confidence to our friends about to buy and fully enjoy with very liitle concern about break downs??? I'm seriously concidering in switching over to buying a Subaru Turbo Outback or a Turbo Forester. ANY SUGGESTIONS on what i need to look for or do next to fix or repair my symptons would greatly be appreciated!!!! Thank You Very Much, D.J.B. in Pasadena
