Replace it or repair it?...Replacing the case means a new (or used) transmission. Just getting a replacement case would entail swapping all of your internal trans parts into it. Labor expense would be...well, significant. Might as well replace the whole trans.
If it's a relatively clean break, that is, the pieces aren't too mangled, and you have all the pieces, A GOOD welder should be able to put it all together for you. Find someone experienced with welding aluminum. I'd recommend this method over any other for the most reliable repair.
If your really in a bind, (or on a low budget), a repair with JB Weld (epoxy) may suffice. It's pretty tuff stuff, but it won't hold up like a properly welded repair.
