Defective Control Arm on Saab very dangerous!!!!

I was driving my 1988 Saab 900s this morning and my left front control arm snapped causing total loss of my steering! Luckily I was pulling out of a driveway when it happened but if I was going down the road I would have lost total control of my steering and it could have been bad. Because of this happening my shock, ball joint, and c.v. joint were also damaged. This will cost me $700.00 to fix. I have done some research on why this happened and aparently there was a recall done on the 1988 Saab 900 for a fault in design which causes the control arm to break. Only Saabs manufactured from June 1988 to Aug 1988 were part of the recall and of course mine was not a part of this recall. This is a design flaw that causes this to happen and as far as I'm concerned Saab should do a recall to fix this problem. I happened to be lucky but someone out there will be cruising down the road and have their control arm break and could hurt themselves or end up crashing into someone else. I contacted Saab and I am waiting for a response. They need to acknowledge this problem and fix the defective 900's out there. PLEASE, go to http://www.nhtsa.com and file a complaint about this problem. This is a serious design flaw on Saabs part and needs to be addressed and fixed.
