Odd solution - Diesel (don`t tell anyone).

I use my garden sprayer (with pump, tubing and nozzle) and fill it with diesel oil. I remove the rubber seal at the back of the door, put in the tube/nozzle and spray the door inside every month at wintertime. The thin diesel oil penetrates the rust and leaves a thin oil layer on everything.
And it is amazing how it solves the problem with slow windows!!
I have experienced with different types of thin oils the last 4 years, and I have found that diesel oil is the best, it penetrates best, is most ressistant to water, and leaves a glossy shine.
The bad thing is the smell,but that vaporize within few days, and maby the enviromental thing with dripping diesel.
I also spray on the outside of the car, and inside wheel wells, and under the car befor going in the car wash tunnel. The Saab looks like freshly polished afterwards.

This will not fixs your rust holes but certainly prevent more rust.
