I have an 88 900s with 142,000 miles on it. The person I bought the car from last year informed me that the engine was rebuilt. He was not sure when but was told by the original owner that the car was in an accident. It was hit in the right front and resulted in the engine having to be rebuilt. I wonder if they would have also rebuilt the tranny but not sure. Anyway, about a couple of months ago when the car was cold it had trouble shifting out of first gear but once the car warmed up it was fine. Now that problem is gone and now once the car gets warm the tranny revs going from first to second. Only when warm, though and the transmission is an automatic. I have changed my fluid twice within the past couple of months and have found no metal shavings in the fluid what so ever. What else could the problem be? Could it just be a dirty governer or mabey a band adjustment? Does it sound like new tranny time?
