E14 or E16 torx socket is required (I bought a set a Sears). The head bolts were VERY tight - need a four foot breaker bar. But none of the bolts broke - darn good bolts.

Make sure you have a Bentley Manual. This will help you out AND will show you all the tools/parts you need. There is a head gasket kit - it will have everything you need since you do not have a turbo. I bought mine from my Saab for around $90. The money you can save elsewhere (if any) is not worth the risk in my opinion.

I would have the head skimmed at a local machine shop. It really is worth it. But don't let 'em take too much - again see the Bentley manual for specs. You don't want to do this job a second time, trust me. Pull out the camshafts per Bentley and take it to the shop (I don't trust many people with my valves sticking out!)

Unlike most jobs I find removal of the cylinder head easier than installation.
