A good friend GAVE me a 1983 900 Turbo currently in a non-running
state. Here are the symptoms:

The car will start but stall immediately. This happens when cold or part warm.

I haven't looked at the fuel filter yet. I just took delivery yesterday. The Hayne's Manual of Wrong Information And Inverted Pictures tells me the problem can be one of two possibilities, a defective pressure regulator or "faulty (fuel injection)contol contacts within distributor."

Here are my questions:
1. WHICH fuel pressure regulator are they talking about? There are THREE of them on this car.
2. Didn't fuel injection contacts in the distributor leave us after Bosch D-Jetronic? Is there something I don't know?
3. Have any of you SAAB-natics had this problem and cured it?

The second problem with the car is the turbo is not making full boost. The car has 88k miles on it and there's just the slightest hint of play in the turbo bearing. My guess is a problem with the APC control or a stuck waste gate. No, I have not checked the condition of all the rubber sleeve connectors on the pressure side inlet ducting. They were OK when I stuck a clutch in this thing last summer. Let's assume they're ok for now. Any thoughts here?

I would appreciate greatly any help in these areas. Thank you in advance. Please excuse the long post. I'm new to the board and don't have a feel for the culture yet.
