Bretth,
Recently I experienced something similiar to what you are describing. The first thing I would recommend would be to do an on-board engine diagnosis using your check engine light ( look it up in FAQ of Saabnet if you do not know the procedure). If that does not shed some light then go to the Townsend Imports site and study "Technical section" on the areas of fuel pump and Ezk ignition diagnosis.
In my case I would be driving down the road and my car would die completely. It would then suddenly re-start and would defy further diagnosis. So I put a toggle switch on the fuel pump fuse and while driving open and close the switch to note what happened. When I turned off power to the pump my car would slowly begin to fade versus a sudden death and I pretty much eliminated the fuel pump. Last night my car finally stalled for one hour and I was able to verify that I had no spark. Could be an ignition module but I swapped one out of a junk yard car and the same thing still occurred, but it was also used. Any you are not alone and I wish you luck, and I will need the same.
Sincerely,
Craig
P.S.(don't rule out things like Idle Air Control Valves etc...)
