Head question, to rebuild, not rebuild, or purchace...

a rebuilt head. The head gasket is leaking. So I need to take the head off. The gasket is new but the last time I did it I didn't have the head surfaced. The head has 175k. Should I dismantle the head, surface it, clean it, check the springs and valves, replace the seals. Or should I just get a rebuilt head. I don't have a leakdown tester to test my head and they seem mighty expensive.
