As a matter of fact, YESTERDAY I did the same installation you are looking for. I purchased a cheap Fuzzbuster 4000 for $100 at the local electronics store. Until I wired and ran the wiring for the detector, I used the supplied coil cord. The best spot I could figure is the back of the cig. lighter. I pulled out, but not disconnected, all 4 switches in the dash around the cig. As much as I tried, I could not get the actual plug out of the dash. In the back there is a 2 prong connector. Disconnect it using both index fingers, or middle, stuck in the holes next to the cig. I then pulled the harness throught he driver side hole. Tested the wires to find the + and -. (One mine it was black =-, and blue =+) I spliced some 16 gauge speaker wire in and ran it out through the right side of the dash, up inside the pass. piller, and in the headliner right to the right of the rearview mirror, where I mounted the detector. Putting the harness back on the cig. lighter was for me the hardest thing to accomplish. It took me about 10 min. just to get the stupid thing back on. Oh, ya test the end of the wire at the headliner for juice w/ the key on BEFORE you stuff the harness back on. After that I cut the coil cord off the detector plug, spliced into the 10 gauge wire, taped it all up, and pushed itto the headliner. Bam hard wired decector w/o the silly coil cord.
