I never say anything about a power loss due to drag of the compressor. I specifically stated I was interested in the possible performance gains by the loss of the weight. Dropping 50-60lbs off the front of the car can make a noticible improvement in handling, which is what I'm looking for. I was looking for others who might have done this, to see exactly how much is coming off (rather than rely on assumptions), and to see what their results were. I have to disagree with your statement about a Saab being a luxury car, I have to consider them more of a GT type car, or maybe a sports sedan. If Saab was just a luxury car, we wouldn't have the SPG or Viggen. I don't know where you get the idea that I'm trying to get a "hotrod" (besides which, I don't need two, my S10 does a perfectly good job at that). I'm just trying to improve the overall performance of my car, which judging from the posts on this BB, I'm not in the minority. And considering how great Saabs are, why would I ever want to sell it?
