Just do it!
I've had 3 saabs in the last 7 years. The first (87' 900s)one got smashed in a tree at 55mph, driver side door was almost 2 feet inside of car, i broke my left knee and fractured 3 ribs but was alive. I was glad not to be in a small Japanese car.
The second one went through 3 automatic transmissions( never take your car to "Transmission World" in Lake Worth, Florida. These guys are Rip-offs charged me an arm and a leg and gave my car back with a bad tranny.) and many many other problems, i once drove from Kentucky back to South Florida in Limp Mode(50mph max), that is a safety mode to get back home. It turned out the ignition timing was way off, a tiny adjustment and i was back in business, we never understood what had happened because the distributor was not loose. But i did replace it a year later after the timing would change as soon as i drove.
I had so many problems with the car that i got used to breaking down on my way to work. After the tranny failed me a 4th time,i just gutted the car and put the engine in my new 87' 900t.
My new 900t drove a couple of months but has been immobilized for 3 weeks now while i try to get a decent turbocharger in it.
I ve been driving a Honda Accord for a while and i hate it compare to my old Saab.
It's like a love story, can't live without them.
Saabs are special cars, i would recommend buying one if you are courageous.
Good luck
Alex
