Six months ago I drove from CA to NY in 3 days of hard driving. No problems.
It's easy to get used to cruising at 75-80 on the interstate.
Two weeks ago, on the way back to CA from Wash, DC, I totaled the saab. I was bypassing I40 north of Little Rock. A yellow hound dog was walking down the middle of my lane and at 65 MPH I couldn't see him until it was too late. I tried to avoid him, got off the road and rolled the heavily loaded 89 900 2 dr 1.5 times before it came to rest on the drivers door. No one was hurt, but no body panel escaped unscathed.
So, when you get off the interstate make a conscious effort to slow down to 55 mph or whatever the speed limit is. It feels very slow, so you will have to make an effort. If you are going to do alot of driving on secondary roads, get a radar detector. I got mine at Ubid for $100. There are loads of speed traps on secondary roads. It's a kind of localized taxation plan.
You're saab might benefit from a fuel treatment like Berryman's Chemtool. Put it in the fuel with a fill up on a day you plan to burn the whole tank. It cleans out the fuel system which will help the car run smoother.
You'll love the trip. Drink lots of water and take breaks often.
