Two weeks ago, on the way back to CA from Wash, DC, I totaled my 89 900 2dr 5 speed saab. I was bypassing I40 north of Little Rock. A yellow hound dog was walking down the middle of my lane and at 65 MPH I couldn't see him until it was too late. I tried to avoid him, got off the road and rolled the heavily loaded Saab 1.5 times before it came to rest on the drivers door. No one was hurt, but no body panel escaped unscathed.
Looking out the windshield, the car rolled counter clockwise.
When I moved the vehicle (towed it with a tractor) the left front wheel was locked. The right front wheel moved freely. It does not appear that the engine is froze. I could turn the engine over with the starter and the wheels did not turn.
So, it appears the left front wheel is locked. Any ideas why? I plan to finding another saab and putting my engine and transmission in it. The only damage to the engine was the hood contacted the distributor and broke it. I'm hoping this didn't damage the 16V engine.
