Vladimir,

Great save! You worked the problem and found the solution so don't feel too sheepish.

Once when I rebuilt the engine in my old 99E, I did a 12-hour flog-a-thon finishing the engine, bolting up the tranny, and tossing it into the engine compartment. I was so tired I don't remember actually lowering the engine into the car. I also don't remember leaving the masking tape over the intake holes and bolting the manifold over it!

You're a young guy. You're doing a complex task for the first time.
That takes a LOT of mental energy. You gotta pace yourself. These mistakes happen because we want to get done and we work past brain-dead.

Make your work sessions shorter. If you think that adds more time to the job, think about how many hours you spent troubleshooting this problem.

I'm assuming you still have some work left to do regarding clutch hydraulics, pedal assemblies, etc.

1. Stay calm.
2. Work the problems.
3. If you get stuck, sleep on it. Don't keep flogging uselessly. Walk away for awhile or get back to it in the morning with a fresh perspective.

This is how us middle-aged geezers keep our energy and enthusiasm for our various projects. We learned these rules the hard way. When we were young, other middle-aged geezers taught us these lessons or at least tried to.

Good job. Slow down to speed up.

JD
