It really is that simple. When I say track rod, I think the American term for it is Tie rod. It's the ball joint on the end on the steering rack, that attaches to the steering knuckle (at the wheel).
To remove, you first press/fork the ball joint out of the steering knuckle - this is where a ball joint separator is really nice to have. You then loosen the locknut, and unscrew the track rod end off of the track rod.
When I say 15 mins, I'm not in any way showing off. It's a really easy and quick job.
