I did this about 6 months ago to my tan cloth front seats in an 86 900S. Like Walter, a gentle wash, then dried on a cool setting (I did not want them to shrink). My wife sewed some support rods back into the seats that had torn loose over the past 15 years or so, and while I was removing the covers. I had the covers off to repair the heated seats. One note: getting the headrests off was not easy, and not explained in Bentley or Haynes; you have to pull the seat cover all the way up, then find and remove the screw holding the headrest in. The screw is accessed from the front near the top, and is buried beneath foam. When you pull the covers off, you may rip some fabric that holds the thin metal rods that give the seats their contours. So, it's a process, but the seats look lke new!
Good luck.
