Hall Sensor replacement DIY? - Hesitation Update

Wednesday I posted all the symptoms of a low rpm stumble and got lots of great suggestions including a few pointing towards the Hall Sensor. The connector is good but the whole unit seems wobbly on the side of the distributor. I used a hose clamp to secure it and I swear it made a difference for the first drive. Later I have the hesitation again, but its got me interested in replaceing it.
Bentley manual shows a "2-jaw puller" being used for removal. Is this necessary (this has never been apart in 140k miles), or can I pry things apart with a screwdriver? Is this basically a DIY project? Looks like a few locating pins and things mixed in for confusion. Thanks!
