I drove my 83 900 to work, and when I went to leave for lunch, it wouldn't run.It sounded like everything was fine when I turned on the ignition, but the engine quits, then it just cranks. I've got 2 guys checking it out, and they both disagree with each other. It's getting plenty of spark, I had just filled it up with gas -the one guy is an airplane engineer/mechanic, he did a test, finding the "hall transmitter" in the distributor isn't getting any current. he say's we should replace that first. The other guy, force fed fuel to the engine -got it to run(he says), and doesn't really know why it's not working or how to fix it - but that it's nothing to do with the distributor, or electricity. Whatever. I don't know who to believe. The fuel pump is getting electricity, the filter has been replaced..........Does anybody know what the hell it could be? someone mentioned fuse #22. what exactly is that the fuse for -I don't know if the numbering changed in models or years. Help please!
