It is becoming a weekend addiction now.
When I start the car it takes several whirrs of the starter (engine strokes?)before it starts (like 2 or more secs).
This is the same when the car is hot/warm.
So far I have checked/replaced:
plugs OK
HT leads NEW
coil (did Ohm test) checked wires for 12V
battery NEW
rotor NEW
cap NEW
replaced vacuum lines and checked with carb cleaner
for leaks
fuel filter NEW
air filter NEW
fuel pressure stays 3.0 bar after engine off (this rules out any check valves)
pressure is 4 to 4.5 (if I remember correctly) at idle
measured O2 sensor (just in case)
cleaned throttle and AIC multiple times
U-sonic cleaned the injectors
cold start valve NEW (other one was broke)
cleaned all the grounds in engine bay
did the AMM burn off test OK
Temp NTC cold / warm OK
Additional sealed all the vac nipples with silicon
I have discoverd following. If I wire a resitor to the
NTC wires faking a 5C temp... the car starts on first
crank but has a crappy idle (too rich).
Or
If I crank for 1-2 secs stop and restart it jumps right
on (idle OK). So this must be some lean/too much air issue, right?
or
If I remove the air-filter box and filter and start, it starts right up. That is more air/more fuel... right?
Idle is OK (i guess 900) but varies slightly.. drops, lets say, 50 rpm when warm (O2-sensor ?)
Tach bounces while cranking
No CE lights
I still think it is fuel related... if the pump brings good pressure it must give enough flow also right?
Dealer says that it is normal for a
'92 900 (non-T). Tracing it down would be $$$-labor they say
and perhaps not worth it.
But a warm car should start right up, right?
Unfortunately I don't have spare expensive parts to simply swap and test ECU, AMM etc.
My previous '89 900c started right up... why won't this one?
Am I (trying) fixing something that ain't broke or overlooking something??
I am running out of ideas now?!
I am even thinking of wiring in the csv to the injectors so it sprays additional fuel when cranking?
Hope there is anyone out there who might have some ideas.

The reason I am still trying to solve this, is that they are great cars and I am willing to spent plenty of hrs in getting them into tip-top shape (the plenty of $$ is the problem still). The pitbull-syndrome I call it. Bite into it and not willing to release.
And I feel a bit embarrassed when a stupid Japanese-shopping-trolley-car simply turns his key and starts off, next to me in a parking lot.
