Are SPG's Slower than A Normal 900T? I Think So.

It would seem to me that they would have to be. Particularly in the 85-89 model years. The spg wheels weigh more than the 15 spoke turbo wheels and I have heard estimates that the spg panels add about 80 pounds to the weight of the car. There is no way that a 5 more horsepower and 7 more ft-lbs. of torque is going to make up for this extra weight. I have never heard anyone address this and I am curious to hear what others have to say. This could be a factor in why auto magazines of the time tested our cars (usually an spg) at speeds slower than we would like to think. I am not knocking SPG's (I would love to own one) but it would seem to me that popular opinion around here differs from common sense.
