Pat:
Pump the pedal like crazy. Usually that works the bubbles out, and gets you started. Once you start to feel some pressure on the pedal, use the clutch bleed screw down on the slave (follow the clutch line to the front of the engine and you'll find it). Different people claim different techniques are better than others, including pressurizing the reservoir or using a vacuum bleed system on the bleeder nipple.
For me, the simplest way is the best way. Have someone push on the pedal while you release and then re-close the bleeder nipple. Keep doing this until you get the air out. Just be sure that the pedal isn't RAISED while the bleed nipple is open, or you may suck air back in from the bottom. Two-way communication is essential. The "pusher" should push, then the "bleeder" should open the nipple. When the pedal reaches the floor, the bleed nipple should be closed before the pedal comes back up.
Again, keep repeating until it works. Initially, pump the pedal vigorously about 50 times and I'll bet the feel comes back. Then bleed the remaining trapped air.
