1989 identity crisis, what is with the ECU?

This is weird to me. A 1989 900t should be LH 2.4, right? But I have a dashpot on the throttle body. So i check the AIC, only has two pins, LH 2.4. The Air Mass meter is plastic, Lh 2.4. So I check out the ECU, it is aluminium Bosch number 0 280 000 570. I thought the aluminium were LH 2.2. What is going on? Has someone retrofitted the 2.2? Does that explain the dashpot?
And some other weird stuff, I don't have a hall sensor on the crank. I thought '89s had the sensor off the crank.
What is the definitive way to tell what is going on? Has this all been done to remedy the '89s crappy ECU? Or is this a freak car from sweden. It was an IDS if that makes any difference.
