If you just washed the car, you will typically get the same type of steam as it warms up that you mentioned. I doubt that you have much to worry about, but it depends on how you maintain your cooling system. Regular theromstat replacements, good hoses, sensors all working...if so,you are probably OK. You might have a small leak near a gasket or on a hose. Tighten down all the hose clamps (and make sure the hose clamps are not rusted junk) and keep watching it. You might even throw a milk jug of water in the trunk to keep you feeling safe. I would run it up to max temp in the driveway and look over things carefully for a few minutes, as that is the same thing your dealer would do. Watch the area under the water pump too... that could be getting ready to go.
