Check Engine Light Trouble Posted by MarcD [Email] (#835) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MarcD) on Mon, 15 Oct 2001 22:00:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The Car: 1989 900 turbo, 80,480 miles
The problem: Check Engine Light is on with codes 12112, 12111 12213 being shown, also 1223 pops up now and again. Except for 12213 all codes indicate a mixture problem.
What I have done so far: About a month ago (before the Loght came on)I replaced the cap, rotor and plugs. Then came the light and I have; replaced a badly cracked vacuum hose at the ECLD canister, replaced O2 sensor, cleaned AIC valve, cleaned throttle body and at Johnk's suggestion (thank you) checked AMM, temp sensor and O2 sensor per Bentley. All normal. Also used the propane trick to check for vacuum leaks...none found. Disconnected battery for a couple of hours and then drove car for about an hour...light keeps coming back. With the exception of the TPS (code 12213) I can't find anything wrong, except the darn check engine light! The car runs and boosts great.
Is my AMM or ECU on the way out? Could it be a problem in the wiring? Did I mention the idle is almost perfect? Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions?
TIA
MarcD
