Well the cold weather seems to be bringing some problems for Saabit. When I went out today to start the car and it was not happy at all. Upon starting, I noticed a very very slight smell of gas, but nothing really. When I started it, the idle came up to like 400-500 rpm and held steady. Giving it gas would ccause hesitation, and then it would rise. I held the rpm up to 1300 or so for like 20 sec to see if the idle would reset it's self or something. It did not, just went right back down to 400rpm. I drove it last night, and none of this happened. I noticed nothing wrong at all. Well after sitting for like 2 min, I decided to drive and just keep my foot on the gas at lights to keep it going if needed, but it had not stalled once yet. Well when I was acceling in first, right up to 2000 rpm it ran fine. After 2k, it would not go any higher. Sorta like the fuel shutoff switch at 6200rpm but this was much much more noticeable. I pulled to the side, and kept it out of gear. When i gave it gas, even floored it, it would run up to 2500k or so then bog to like 1500 then repeat.(Very much like a PT curiser's rev limiter when out of gear.
I got out looked around the bay or a sec, and unplugged the AIC. When I did this, the car was running at about 700rpm. When I disconnected it, the idle bumpped up to 800 or so. Plug it back in, 700. Now my idle is always running around 750. After doing this, the I was able to rev the engine like regular. Went for a drive and every so often would experience the kickdown for like a split sec then the car would totally come back to life. (every 10min for so)
AMM? AIC? Any ideas?
