Hey guys,
I'm still messing with this 4 door ground problem and if you recall I did the townsend fix (in a different location, not the 1inch by 1inch square) and the problem was worst. Well after some checking with my digital volt/ohm meter I discovered that the grounding point which is recommend I had 1.9 ohms of resistance. I checked out the grounding point for my amplifier and got 1.8 ohms of resistance. So before really diving into the engine bay I ran a test wire from the negative terminal of the batter to the rear of the car and attached the supplimental ground to that, worked like a charm. So I looked at the terminals on my battery and by the radiator and can you say oxidation. Which is weird since I cleaned the terminals around 3-4 months ago. So I think I'm going to run a perminant ground wire from the negative terminal to the supplimental ground. I think that I can cause the resistance reported to go down by cleaning the terminals but if they return to that state I'll get the same problems. Any suggestions.
Mike
