High Idle

The idle on my '87 900 is running about 1300 rpm. The idle was where it was supposed to be a couple of months ago. Then I changed the oxygen sensor and it climbed about 200 rpm. Then it slowly rose over the next month about 200 more rpm. Then about a month ago I had a quick-oil-change place do a fuel injector cleaning service they offered and the idle jumped the final 200 rpm.

I can't find any air leaks. The only thing odd I've noticed: Where the idle adjust is, there's no plug, the hole has gunk in it, and if I push something in there it'll reduce the idle. (I can't tell if there's an adjusting screw in there or not.) Also, I noticed today that my AC belt has broken apart and fallen off. I'm not sure how long it's been gone. Would that affect the idle?

P.S. I noticed that a lot of the other postings about high idle refer to an "AIC" or "AIC valve". What is that? And where? Thanks again.
