I am driving along buzzing with excitement at the new wheels sitting in the back (4 rims and tyres all fitting perfectly into the hatch!) when it starts to get a little chilly (Ohio, upper 30's) so I decide to close the sunroof. After closing the sunroof I put my fingers on the temp dial to tone down the heat. I move it from 3/4 down to 1/4 heat. When I move it I can feel a strange vibration coming through the dial. I then feel the fan switch and the vent selector and feel no vibration at all. Back to the temp dial and it is still vibrating. I think it might be the new CD player so I feel it. No vibration while the temp dial is still virbrating. I turn the CD player off and to see if I can hear something. I hear nothing but and still feel the vibration in the temp dial. I feel all over the central dash area and can only feel the vibration in the temp dial. Then suddenly the vibration stops. I shrug my shoulders, turn the CD player back on (Cake) and keep trucking. After a few minutes I notice that it is starting to get colder in the car. I feel the vents and there is cold air coming out of the vents. And I am not talking about the center vents but the side and floor vents!! I move to temp up to 1/2 and still cold air. I move the temp up to 100% and still cold air. A vision of a lifeless hanging split open bottom radiator hose flashes through my mind and my eyes dart to the temp gauge. It's plugging along at just under 1/2 where is almost always is. (except the time my thermostat froze!!) So I keep watching the thermostat and driving. Still no heat. After a few minutes I decide to try a "reboot". I moved the temp dial from 100% heat all the way down to 0% heat (cold) and then back up to 100% heat. I put my hand over the vent and almost instantly feel the warm air start to flow out. It was fine for the next hour of the trip and fine this morning. This happened in my 86 900T after 4 hours of highway driving (65-75mph).

Anyone ever even heard of this happening???
