Now that you found fixed the broken connections, don't throw you're work away. The problem is not in the seat.
There's a relay in the seat 1-2-3 switch that ought to be connecting the yellow to the yellow/white wire, thus powering the seat. If you get power by jumpering those wires, but the relay doesn't do make the connection, then the contacts on the relay are bad or it's not pulling its coil down and making contact. Just to make sure, you do have the blue wire on pin 6 of the switch, black on pin 9, right. You should also have the brown/white on pin 7, but that's just for the light in the switch, not the relay.
You can try opening the switch and cleaning up the contacts on the relay. I've heard relays often go bad by loose contacts or bad solder connections. Try wiggling all connectors and solder up the loose ones. But if the windings on the coil appear burnt, then I would forget it and pick up another switch at the junkyard.
