The pads are well within spec. I guess I was just surprised by the difference between my 89 and 91. Both have vented rotors but the 89 is used mostly for city driving and must have the softer pads. Also, the 91 has the ABS system. I do know that the ABS will not affect braking under normal operation but I have noticed that the feel of the system is different. With the 89, the brakes give more grip with initial pedal response whereas the 91 will take a little more pedal pressure. As a consequence, I tend to brake gentler with the 91 than the 89. I was going to call Jim for the CV boot but I guess I will leave my pads and disks alone for now.

By the way, the pads are Semi-metallic (I think Metalmasters) and are definitely low dust. The car also shows the scary lack of braking during first attempt with rainy weather. Then again, how often does that happen in California?
