so from all these posts I take it the batteries should be wired parallel (pos to pos neg to neg) to maintain 12 volts. both batteries are same age and condition. bIt is a sailboat with no motor other than 5hp outboard. I am wiring all navigation lights w mast light and spot fog light up front. Also will wire radio (car stereo) and interior lights. Bilge pump is not necesary as bilge is generally dry and I pump out periodic water by hand. Thanks all. also any suggested websites for outboard maintenance. I am generally mechanical but have limited experience with outboards. I must replace water pump and change gear drive oils is this difficult. Thanks again
